Additional information can be found at, and at Position Summary A Baker provides the Store with support in the production, stocking, and sale of daily baked goods. Position Responsibilities • Following the “One Best Way” Standards of practice. • Practicing the 3 Meter Attitude. • Assisting Customers in finding merchandise. • Answering register calls promptly. • Being knowledgeable about register operations. • Providing assistance to the front end Associates with price checks. • Communicating effectively with Management and reviews the Production Sheet to understand the daily variety of bakery items to be baked, finished, and packaged. • Operating, utilizing, and maintaining cleanliness of food preparation equipment, such as bread slicers, baking ovens, bread proofers, donut machines, scales, and supporting equipment, such as knives, forks, and dishwasher. • Communicating and assisting customers with information on product freshness, ingredients, availability, and help in placing special orders for cakes and Bakery Department merchandise, such as flavor, icing type, and decorations. • Answering phone and takes special orders for cakes and other bakery items from Customers. • Effectively resolving Customer concerns, involving moving throughout the facility; and physically and visually locating merchandise for Customers. • Retrieving, stocks, and maintains proper merchandise from freezer/cooler to preparation area, racks, shelves, and display cases. • Processing throwaways; stocking, zoning, labeling, pricing, and organizing merchandise in accordance with Company guidelines. • Maintaining the overall appearance of the assigned Department area by keeping merchandise and displays fully stocked, properly signed, neat, clean, and organized. • Preparing bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines. • Ensures the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise; such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
