Banquet Manager

Splash Catering at Casa Loma is currently looking for a highly motivated individual as Banquet Manager. If you feel you are qualified, please apply with your cover letter and resume.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily scheduling of staff to facilitate quality service
  • Conduct briefings with Food & Beverage service staff prior to each function
  • Responsible for the appearance of staff, uniforms and name tags while on duty
  • Assist with hiring, promotions and recommendations regarding current Staff
  • Record hours of staff on time sheets and submission of weekly payroll
  • Thorough check of all function rooms before events to ensure proper set up, appearance and cleanliness
  • Proper handling of Food & Beverage contracts, change logs and associated paperwork
  • Inspect equipment and arrange for repairs as required
  • Promote team work and two way communication
  • Promote excellent member relations
  • Assist with the overall departmental goals
  • Excellent working relationship with BOH and other Departments
  • Assist with banquet inventory
  • Ensures compliance with the Liquor Laws of Ontario
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Food & Beverage.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years prior Banquet experience
  • Degree/Diploma in Event Management, Hospitality Management or a related discipline is a strong asset
  • Outstanding attention to detail – both personal grooming/appearance and in properly identifying guest’s needs, demeanor, and level of required service attention.
  • Excellent customer service skills. Demonstrates self confidence, energy and enthusiasm.
  • Proven leadership ability in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communications skills both oral and written when dealing with guests and employees both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, co-operatively within a team setting and as well as the ability to plan and multi-task in a busy environment.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be computer literate – proficient in word, excel and outlook.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada.
