Job Description

We are seeking a Cafe Supervisor to join our team!

Cafe Supervisor will oversee all functions of cafe staff working under them. Supervisors will work on maintaining a positive environment which provides fast, efficient, and friendly service while ensuring a quality experience for both customers and team members. Supervisor will ensure safe work practices are performed by committing to all food safety polices, health department policies and company policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate all cafe activities
  • Ensures all health department rules, regulations & protocols are adhered to by themselves and all Café staff
  • Completes weekly café maintenance checklist & turns into Space Manager, noting any issues within the café
  • Acts as the communication between management & café staff
  • Assists and oversees in opening & closing duties
  • Prepares all café menu items using standard facility equipment ensuring quality and efficiency
  • Provides assistance to other employees to contribute to the best overall operation of the cafe
  • Oversee guest services and resolve issues
  • Ensure a high quality of ingredients and food preparation
  • Train and manage kitchen personnel
  • Create and adjust staff schedules to meet cafe needs
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations
  • Monitors stocks of ingredients and food items and assists with the preparation of inventory supply orders
  • Perform weekly purchase of café items
  • Consistently monitors, coaches and encourages team members to ensure highest standards are met
  • Involved in hiring, promotion, disciplinary, and termination of staff members and makes recommendations to Space Manager

Qualifications:

  • Team player with the ability to handle conflicts with clients, suppliers and staff
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and French
  • Organized and reliable
  • Criminal record check
  • CPR and First Aid Certificate
  • Food Safe Handling Certificate
  • Child Abuse Registry Check
  • Must be able to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and unpredictable staff off days
  • Must own vehicle; Valid driver’s licence ​
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Two-year college degree (preferred)

Experience:

  • At least two years in similar job experience in food service or other related fields
