As an In Room Dining Server providing warm service, efficiency and knowledge of our menu offerings, you will ensure the timeliness and enjoyment of every memorable meal.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the In Room Dining Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Have complete understanding of and adhere to all company policies and rules including those relating to Fire, Hygiene and Safety and the EnvironmentThorough knowledge of the menu
  • Delivery and Serving of orders to guest rooms, spa lounge and pool area, adhering to standards
  • Take and serve orders for food and mixed beverages at the pool juice bar
  • Delivery, removal and refreshing of complimentary Items, and Gifts
  • Clearing and Resetting of Portable IRD tables and trays
  • Liaison to kitchen departments, while communicating orders efficiently
  • Problem Solving
  • Answering phones & taking orders in a polite and courteous manner, adhering to all standards
  • Up selling & using beverage knowledge, tracking beverage inventory
  • Using Daily reports to compile daily amenity deliveries
  • Using hotel based software, including Property Manager, and Royal Service Manager
  • Polishing Glassware, Folding Napkins
  • Side work, consisting of cleaning, preparing stock levels for next day service
  • Preparing worksheets, calculating and balancing work for the shift and completing log sheet
  • Locking the In Room Dining office after the shift closes at night
  • Locking up float, and cash deposits
  • Being prepared to work early morning, afternoon and night shifts
  • Other duties as assigned


  • High School diploma
  • Proserve 
  • Post Secondary Education in Hospitality
  • Experience with cash and good telephone manners
  • Knowledge of accounting
  • Knowledge of wine / beverages an asset
  • Desire and passion for selling
  • Experience with decision making and problem solving
  • First Aid Certification
  • Micros experience  an asset

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):  

  • Lifting

    – Under 20lbs: 40′ of work time 

  • Carrying – Over 20lbs 10′ of work time 
  • Pulling – Over 20lbs 10′ of work time
