The Position


This is an exciting opportunity to bring your passion for Cuisine to the first The Buffet in Ontario! As a Café Associate, you will serve customers food and drinks over the counter, in a quick serve style café. You will receive payment and work in collaboration with the kitchen staff.


Key Responsibilities


  • Take guests’ orders for food and drinks over the counter, in a quick serve style café while consistently ensuring accuracy
  • Handle payments through the company’s point of sale equipment adhering to the company policies
  • Maintain a high level or customer service in the food and beverage areas
  • Maintain current knowledge of products, events and promotions and general information relating to the Food and Beverage department, general gaming floor and property
  • Constantly monitor the cleanliness and aesthetics of the cafe/ dining areas and take action where required, including assisting patrons with menu items
  • Stock and clean the Food and Beverage department areas as required
  • Work collaboratively with team members to maintain the cleanliness of café/dining areas


What You’ll Require


  • 1 year experience in a food and beverage and or customer service position
  • Cash handling experience using POS system or cashier register
  • Smart Serve Certificate
  • Fast food or quick serve experience is an asset
  • Proven high level of Customer Service
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer service skills including ability to be friendly, polite and patient
  • Ability to deal with demanding clientele in a professional manner
  • Ability to multi-task, organize workload and work under pressure
  • The ability to obtain registration as a Category 2 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario
