Director, Business Solutions (Travel to Collingwood, ON Required) This position will oversee all IT functions and is responsible for preparing and updating the strategic plan to ensure alignment with objectives.

28th July, 2022 Title : Director, Business Solutions (Hybrid/Remote/In-office) Job Summary The Director, Business Solutions will oversee all IT functions within Parkbridge, with responsibility for overall customer (internal and external) satisfaction, project delivery, resource planning and management for a portfolio of technology-oriented initiatives and ongoing infrastructure and operations (I&O) accountability.

The Director is responsible for preparing and updating the IT strategic plan to ensure alignment with broader organizational objectives.

Director will be expected to work with all business stakeholders and demonstrate excellent communication skills.

The Director will have overall responsibility for engaging the Executive Team to ensure ongoing support and alignment with functional plans.

You will be responsible for leading a group of Project Managers/Business Analysts and Development resources accountable for the successful delivery of strategic initiatives.

Working collaboratively with various roles and teams, you will work with internal stakeholders to define and implement solutions that meet Parkbridge’s evolving needs.

The focus will be on taking our project delivery practices to the next level of maturity and identifying opportunities to accelerate acceptance/adoption of new capabilities.

The Director is responsible for developing and executing an IT infrastructure and security strategy, while managing, planning, designing, and implementing information technology systems to ensure that Parkbridge’s information systems and networks are operable, secure, protected, and meet the needs of the business.

In addition to infrastructure management responsibility, this position is also accountable for IT security.

Responsibilities include minimizing technology security exposures, including internal and external threats, and ensuring that the IT systems meet legal and regulatory obligations regarding IT security and risk management.

NOTE: This is a hybrid role, requiring at least 2 days per week in-office in Collingwood, ON.

Job Details Strategy/Driving Performance o Maintain and update as appropriate the IT strategic plan, including tactical initiatives, staffing plan, and budget, through effective collaboration with the functional partners o Ensure that the IT strategic plan and initiatives continue to align with Parkbridge’s strategic plan and other related organizational goals o Using that collaborative lens, continue to improve on the prioritization and execution of key “driving performance” projects through the ongoing balancing of priorities, resources, and deliverables, as well as establishing and measuring against identified performance outcomes where appropriate o Responsible for the successful delivery of IT projects People and Team Leadership o Motivate the team to achieve ambitious goals; drive accountability and celebrate successes o Build and evolve high-performance teams; evaluate team strengths and weaknesses; work with Human Resources to fill key skills gaps on the team o Develop and maintain relationships with external collaborators and partners, and with industry and research organizations o Effectively coach, manage, and develop subordinates through regular meetings and follow up to resolve any issues or concerns that may arise o Responsible for ensuring that all employees within the reporting structure are committed to Parkbridge’s goals and objectives, and to meeting expectations/ requirements, while also ensuring that the managers are providing a positive, challenging environment to meet these expectations o Drive the company culture in your responsible department and the managers who report to you, while ensuring the unity of purpose and fulfillment of Parkbridge’s mission o Identify and implement tactics to support the “I Am Parkbridge” focus Budgeting and Financial Controls o Prepare and manage IT functional budget, and help ensure that projects meet financial objectives o Approach problems and decisions from a cost-benefit perspective; use cost-benefit analyses to support conclusions and recommendations o Strong financial management experience; ability to navigate through complex financial models to maximize results Program Management o Responsible for overall Business Solutions Project Management Office (PMO), with oversight for all project management, development, and training resources o Translate business and product goals into a detailed, feasible plan of action for the entire project cycle; drive execution of that plan to ensure project success o Foresee risks and develop mitigation and contingency plans o Drive communication within the team and with external groups; effectively communicate project status regularly to all interested stakeholders o Work with stakeholders to balance product scope and quality against available resources and time; understand the business impact of product quality; help drive decision-making on product scope o Prioritize issues and apply creative problem-solving skills; develop solutions to address root causes of problems so they do not reappear o Identify and implement tactics that will assist with the successful adoption of critical processes and systems within the organization o Work with the Project Sponsors and Project Managers/Business Analysts to establish a consistent and more mature approach to project delivery to move Parkbridge up the CMM (Capability Maturity Model) maturity curve o Manage the development of solutions and processes to address existing problems and look toward the future to anticipate potential problems Applications and Development o Assist in identifying opportunities to increase the throughput of our development group using outsourced resources, more robust requirements/functional specifications, and more detailed test plans/use cases o Identify and implement improvements in our hand-off from development to the corporate application support team as new systems transition into production Data and Analytics o Responsible for enterprise data and analytics practice with oversight for strategy and roadmap execution o Work with stakeholders to identify and implement capabilities in support of data-driven outcomes Infrastructure and Operations Management o Develop and execute the IT infrastructure and security strategy plan and roadmap o Develop and continuously improve IT processes, oversee, and manage financial and staffing resources and service providers o Oversee and manage the operations to support infrastructure and security to all areas of the organization o Recommend and implement projects/programs to ensure that legal and regulatory requirements are proactively managed (PCI, CASL, Privacy, etc.) o Monitor compliance with information security policies and procedures among employees, service providers, alliances, and other third parties, referring problems to appropriate parties o Identify Security Architecture and Standards requirements, and develop and implement programs to support them o Manage stakeholder relationships and provide expertise in best practice implementation o Coach and provide leadership to the IT team to improve the organizational IT infrastructure and security capability Communications o Working with Corporate Communications and other functional partners, establish a consistent practice around IT-related communication o Work with Project Sponsors and Business/Analysts to ensure that practices are adopted and overall objectives are being met Training/Adoption o Working with internal partners, define the goals, strategy, and resource requirements to deliver a successful training capability that includes both project-oriented training and that which is required on an ongoing basis o Working with internal business partners, operationalize the training strategy o Ensure that training goals are being met through ongoing monitoring/measurement ABOUT PARKBRIDGE: Given the rising costs of real estate, home ownership is quickly becoming out-of-reach for many Canadians.
