This position is the first person that each of our guests will meet in the hotel, and usually will be the first they speak to on the phone. As such it is important that the employee is able to present the Ptarmigan Standard of warm professionalism.
This position will require the employee to be able to communicate both orally and written in the English language.
Duties:
Register guests, assign rooms. Process group arrivals and departures, Take, cancel and modify room reservations. Provide information on hotel facilities and services. Provide general information about points of interest in and around Hay River, NT. Investigate and resolve complaints and claims, involving management as required. Process guests departures, calculate charges and receive payments, Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports and related forms, Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments. Provide customer service, answer telephone and relay telephone calls and messages.
Education Requirements
No degree, certificate or diploma is required for this position. Completion of High School is considered an asset.
Work Experience Requirements:
The Front Desk Agent should have customer service experience, of not less than 7 months. Additional experience is considered an asset.
Wages:
The starting wages for this position are $17.00/hour, however following successful training and completion of review, this will be increased, by management guidelines.
