Hotel Business Development Manager

YOUR FUTURE TEAM: Reporting to the General Manager, you will work closely with the Sales & Catering department of the hotel.

You will be ultimately responsible for implementing and seeing through sales strategies ensuring the negotiated segments meet their financial goals.

WHAT WE OFFER : Group insurances paid 50% by the employer for full time employees Access to the hotel gym according to occupancy Promotional rate to discover Germain Hôtels properties through Canada Opportunities to develop your career within a growing company across Canada YOUR RESPONSABILITIES: Demonstrates strong negotiation skills in working out contractual agreements with potential clients quote and negotiate prices within established parameters Takes a proactive approach to business development through account management, lost business accounts, prospecting within target market segments and referrals Display effective time management skills by promptly replying to incoming inquiries, sending proposals, contracts and other sales correspondence as needed by clients Research markets in order to identify potential opportunities of business and increase market share Analyzes available reports, trends, competitive knowledge to develop tactics to maximize occupancy Maintains personal contact with “top” producing customer accounts (group or corporate) through regular sales calls to promote excellent communication and client feedback Completes all Corporate RFP’s via Lanyon and or corporate rate letters Conducts site inspections and client visits, host and participate in familiarization trips, attend industry trade shows and assigned association memberships Attends hotels meeting when it is needed (revenue and operations meetings) Create and submits monthly sales reports and monthly updates to the Sales Action Plan Enters daily activities in Opera PMS in accordance with Germain Hotel standards Represents the hotel to the guests and the general public in such a way as to enhance the quality, image and the reputation of the property WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: 3 to 5 years as Sales Manager University degree in a related field Ability to use Microsoft applications and hotels technologies (ex: Opera) Available to travel outside Newfoundland occasionally Group Germain Hotels is a family run business originally from Québec that builds and operates Le Germain Hotels and Alt Hotels across the country.
