The Director of Sales and Marketing is an essential person, as his job as manager is to coordinate group sales. He/she plans and organizes the sales, promotion and marketing activities of the establishment in order to attract individual and group customers. He/she works closely with the Director of Accommodation and the General Manager.

Job description:

  • Answer and follow up on incoming calls that may result in a sale;
  • Develop quotations and sales contracts;
  • Maintain and develop relationships with the distribution network;
  • Participate in representation activities;
  • Prepare a sales and marketing plan based on customer trend studies;
  • Implement and manage marketing and promotional campaigns according to the established plan and objectives;
  • Analyze campaign results (print, media, web, etc.);
  • Analyze sales reports;
  • Manage the financial resources (preparation of budgets, control of operating costs, etc.) allocated to his/her department;
  • Provide general and administrative support to the General Manager;
  • Any other related duties.

Skills :

  • Customer service skills;
  • Sales, marketing and negotiation skills;
  • Professional attitudes and behaviour (teamwork skills, autonomy, dynamism, interpersonal skills, honesty, versatility, initiative, organizational skills, etc.)
  • Knowledge of basic management principles and relevant computer systems;
  • Excellent knowledge of market and customer analysis, distribution networks, advertising, mass media and social media;
  • Excellent knowledge of the tourism industry, as well as the establishment’s products and services;
  • Excellent knowledge of the immediate area and tourist attractions;
  • Written and verbal communication skills;
  • Leadership and decision making skills;
  • Stress tolerance

Education :

  • H.S. (High School Diploma)
  • Diploma in hotel management techniques
  • Training in marketing and social media

Experience:

  • Experience as a sales representative in the tourism industry or related field.
  • or
  • At least two (3) years experience as a hotel front desk clerk.

Languages:

  • French: spoken and written
  • English: spoken and written

  • Knowledge in sales and marketing – Asset
  • Able to work under pressure – Asset
  • Knowledge of tourist attractions and the city in general – Asset
  • Knowledge of the hotel industry – Asset
  • Service oriented towards quality of services rendered – Asset
