The job of a security guard is to patrol inside and outside the property, spot current or potential problems, fix what can be fixed, judge the importance of what cannot be resolved immediately, and take action according to the types of problems. The employee must also respond to customer service calls, complete the security report, and, if necessary, ensure a presence at the reception.

Description of tasks:

  • Supervise the premises: control access to the grounds and buildings and direct visitors to the appropriate places.
  • Make periodic rounds to inspect the various areas of the establishment.
  • Examine the doors and windows to ensure that they are securely locked.
  • Maintain order and prevent any undue commotion, crime, or theft of property.
  • Discourage inappropriate behavior.
  • Enforce security regulations in force in the establishment.
  • Expel intruders and unwanted loiterers if necessary.
  • Check the anti-theft system and fire detectors, adjust thermostats and lights.
  • Investigate and report to the competent authorities the danger of fire, the malfunctioning of machinery, or the interruption of public utility services: electricity, heating, ventilation.
  • Alert the police, the firefighters, and ambulance as required.
  • Collaborate with authorities in reporting trespassers and unwanted loiterers.
  • Apply the establishment’s regulations relating to the internal and external movement of staff, visitors, users, and suppliers.
  • Inform and direct visitors, if necessary, effectively.
  • Enforce the curfew and check the departures of visitors.
  • Write daily monitoring reports.
  • Provide special services as needed, such as responding to customer requests, dealing with lost property, processing complaints, or referring customers to the appropriate people to do so.
  • Any other related tasks that may be requested by the administration of the establishment.

Training:

Valid BSP card (private security office), High school diploma.

Languages:

We require bilingualism (French and English) because we serve an international clientele.

Availability:

Friday and Saturday evening/night.
