ABC Technologies’ core business as an Automotive Tier 1 supplier is in the Design, Development and Production of plastic automotive systems and components for OEMs worldwide.

THE OPPORTUNITY: ABC Technologies has an immediate opening at its Toronto headquarters for a Senior Project Engineer within its Interiors Business Unit.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Senior Project Engineer is responsible for using a customer’s initial design or product specifications to engineer, design and develop a product or product system which fully meets the design criteria within the cost, timing and quality objectives of the program.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: Manage and launch new product programs.

Assist in tooling try-outs and PPAP submission to customers.

Lead the liaison with Customer’s Engineering and Design personnel.

Lead design and engineering on new and existing products (engineering changes).

Prepare detailed part tooling and equipment cost quotations in response to Customer inquiries as well as in-depth presentations for technical reviews at customers.

Develop test plan (DVP&R) and analyze results.

Manage suppliers of components, material, tooling and equipment.

Manage all project cost and tracking of changes.

Participate in new product development activities.

Manage tight timelines and deliver projects successfully.

Completion of all documentation according to policies and procedures as well as ISO procedures.

Ensure that immediate Supervisor is continually and fully informed of all job-related matters.

Advise the production supervisory group of the design, build, delivery etc.

Status of new tooling and/or product equipment.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE: Minimum Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience in project engineering within the automotive industry.

Engineering degree and related Engineering experience preferably in Plastics.

Solid understanding of overall project engineering and project management procedures (APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, quality standards, PPAP, cost tracking) Must be able to multitask and have exemplary time management skills Strong communication and organizational skills Must be computer literate (MS-Office) Must be able to travel locally and may require periodic travel internationally Problem solving abilities.

Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Plastic injection/Blow molding experience is an asset.

Hard Trims & Door Panels experience an asset.

Automotive and/or plastics experience preferred.
