Assistant General Manager Restaurant

This is a Contract position in Niagara, ON posted May 16, 2018.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Commits to providing courteous and superior quality service to all guests
  • Develop and drive a profitable, efficient and safe restaurant environment; adheres to and enforces all health/safety standards
  • Ensures a highly professional and engaging level of effective guest service through highly responsive supervisory and dining employees
  • Proactively creates and motivates knowledgeable, helpful and engaging supervisory and non-supervisory staff with goal of being dedicated to exceeding guest satisfaction and operating revenue targets
  • Reports directly to the General Manager while assisting with the creation of annual / semi-annual business plans, strategies and controls: cost-benefit analysis of equipment, products/services, revenue maximization, and management/supervisory skill assessment
  • HR responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, training, developing, scheduling, evaluating/providing employee and management feedback
  • Ensures all operating equipment and cash control standards and used
  • Complete inventory checks and departmental reports on a regular basis
  • Assists in other management/employee responsibilities as required

Qualifications:

  • Current experience as an Assistant General Manager in a high volume restaurant (up to $7 million+)
  • Strong leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to demonstrate and maintain a professional composure at all times regardless of the issue, while performing multiple tasks among staff: guests / tasks / items / products / management duties
  • Ongoing commitment and passion to maximizing guest satisfaction in each stage of the guest experience
  • Able to establish immediate credibility with guests and staff and follows a ‘lead by example’ role model approach
  • Strong problem analysis and ability to find immediate but effective resolutions
  • Smart Serve Ontario certification would be an asset
