IDRCs Finance and Administration Division is responsible for ensuring financial management practices are in place to support the timely and accurate production of financial reporting for decision making, effecting payments to grantees, suppliers and employees throughout the world, managing travel and ensuring the safety of our employees worldwide, and creating workspaces that maximize employee productivity and harmony.


Term Position (until May 31, 2019) Ottawa, Canada

Under the direction of the Chief, Conference Management, you will be responsible to prepare coffee, beverages, and hot and cold breakfast and lunch items to the customers of the Employee Lounge.

You will also assist with food preparation for daily meals as well as ensure the lounge is kept clean and organized.  You will be responsible for handling the collection of money from customers, balancing the cash register, submitting daily receipts for deposit, and bringing the weekly deposit to the bank.


Overview of Qualifications

  • High school diploma essential, hospitality or cuisine related training desirable
  • At least 3 years experience within the hospitality/catering industry using a cash register
  • Bilingual position (English/French) at an intermediate level
  • Knowledge of proper food handling techniques and basic equipment use (such as basic knife skills, operation of induction cooker)
