This is a Contract position in Peel region, ON posted January 8, 2018.

Position Duties: Under the direction of the Recreation Programmer/Recreation Coordinator, responsible for professionally preparing and serving refreshments while providing excellent customer service.Create menu plans for lunch with appropriate pricingSupervise volunteers by assigning tasksPrepare and cook lunch and light snacks for 60 seat public dining roomService customers and address food related comments in a professional manner by providing exceptional customer serviceEnsure food loss is kept at a minimum and portion control is adhered toEnsure volunteers, equipment and kitchen facilities meet all Department of Health regulationsEnsure kitchen equipment is cleaned and report malfunctioning equipment to SupervisorMaintain complete vigilance while on duty and be ready to respond to any emergency situationComplete administrative duties in a timely manner (eg.

attendance, incident/accident reports, opening and closing procedures)Maintain a safe and tidy space ensuring equipment is set-up and stored appropriatelyReport all concerns, accidents and incidents to immediate supervisor for follow up and take appropriate actionUnderstand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staffAttend meetings/training as requiredPerforms other duties as assignedSelection Criteria:Minimum 18 years of agePrevious experience in a food preparation environmentFood Handlers certificationAbility to stand for long periods of time, stoop, kneel and lift up to 50lbs.Class “G” driver’s licenceKnowledge of OHSA, WHIMIS, food related Health regulationsCurrent Standard First Aid / CPR C / AED from an accredited organizationSubmit or agree to a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record CheckExceptional customer service and communication skills**
