An independent grocery store in Mississauga is seeking a Prepared Foods Manager.

The Prepared Foods Manager is directly responsible for supervising all kitchen culnary functions, including food purchasing, preparation and maintenance of quality standards, sanitation and cleanliness for the Hot Food/ Kitchen Deparments.

As well as staff management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day kitchen operations and hot food counters.
  • Supervise the preparation procedures and make sure that all staff and food adhere to corporate food safety and health department standards.
  • Support management with catering proposals, create menu pricing and menu changes, improvements and innovation.
  • Meeting department financial goals, including sales, margin and labour.
  • Track food costs while managing vendors to provide cost-efficient products.
  • Research and develop new recipes and menus.
  • Developing and training of staff members
  • Researching and developing new recipes.
  • Modeling exceptional customer service skills.
  • Developing strategies to drive sales and improve profitability.
  • Assist the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager during performance evaluations of the kitchen and hot food staff by providing thorough performance feedback and performance improvement recommendations.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
