Assistant Outlet Manager

Toronto Marriott City Centre Hotel is the world’s only hotel located in a major league sports and entertainment venue, the Rogers Centre.

Premier among Toronto downtown hotels, this full-service CAA/AAA Four Diamond hotel is ideally situated in the heart of the entertainment district, and conveniently located just steps from the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, CN Tower, Air Canada Centre and the financial district. Our distinctive hotel features 348 recently renovated rooms, including 70 field-view rooms and Restaurant and Lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a panoramic view of the stadium.

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Food and Beverage Services Manager, the Assistant Outlets Manager will effectively direct the Restaurant, Lounge, Banquet and In-Room Dining teams while on duty and in the absence of the Food and Beverage Services Manager and Senior Leadership. We are looking for a dynamic manager with high energy, creativity, professional manner and a strong work ethic. The successful candidate must have a hands on approach and not be afraid to get their hands dirty.

RESPONSIBILITIES (Including but not limited to)

  • Communicates expectations to Outlet Associates through performance appraisals, training, departmental orientation, monthly departmental meetings, scheduling etc.
  • Makes recommendations for hiring new associates.
  • Maintains Marriott service and product standards in all F&B departments.
  • Supervises daily activities of associates.
  • Conducts pre-shift meetings at the beginning of each shift.
  • Provide tools, equipment and support to associates to enhance the service delivery.
  • Operate within the guidelines of all food & beverage licenses and health & safety laws.
  • Communicate service deficiencies and/or associate issues to the Food and Beverage Services Manager.
  • Maximize Food & Beverage Outlets revenue.
  • Recommend and implement control procedures to maximize revenues and protect Company assets.
  • Monitor productivity, making necessary adjustments in order to operate within the budgeted guidelines.
  • Collaborate and provide support on social media initiatives including online reputation management (TripAdvisor, Yelp, etc.), content creation and social customer service.
  • Submit payroll on a timely basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least one year supervisory experience preferred
  • At least one year Food & Beverage Outlet Operations experience required
  • Candidate must have knowledge of local health and liquor laws
  • Smart Serve Certification required
  • Food Handlers Certification an asset
  • Diploma/degree in hospitality or related topic preferred
  • Knowledge of Squirrel preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office programs i.e. Word, Excel
  • Knowledge of wines, beer and spirits required
