Host/Hostess- PT

Easton's Group Westin

This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted May 15, 2018.


The Westin Toronto Airport Hotel currently has (1) PART TIME position available for a Host/Hostess  in the Food & Beverage department to work the morning shift.  The host/hostess is responsible for welcoming guests to the restaurant and providing fast and courteous service to ensure an enjoyable dining experience and repeat business.


Job Requirements:

(a)  Greets guests in a prompt and courteous manner; seats guests ensuring a balanced workload among servers.  Maintain accurate waiting list as needed.  Alert guest when table is available.

(b)  Explain and upsell our menus/buffet to Guests

(c)  Answer phone calls to take any reservations or Guest inquiries

(d)  May assist servers in clearing, cleaning and setting tables.

(e)  Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner.

Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.

(f)  Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.

(g)  Perform other duties as assigned. In carrying out your duties you will follow all Company and Westin Brand Standards

(h)  Perform other duties assigned by supervisor or department manager.

Skills and Abilities Required:

(a)  High School or equivalent.

(b)  Minimum of 2 year hotel/customer service capacity.

(c)  Able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

(d)  Able to lift 10-20lbs, and, carry up to 50lbs.

(e)  Bending/Kneeling

– ability to bend to lower level cabinets and banquet storage room. 

(f) Continually moving at a fast pace

(g)  Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours a shift.

(h)  Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by guests.

(i)  Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.

(j)  Must work well under pressure and be able to prioritize tasks.

(k)  Must possess strong computer skills.

(l)  Basic accounting skills, handle cash and credit cards.

Work Schedule:  Must be able to work various shifts including: evenings, days, weekends and holidays, based on needs.
